Why did I just do that?

If I help my son with a gift, but do so for selfish reasons, I negate a portion of the gift and the portion negated, is in direct proportion to the degree of self-serving! For instance: if I help my son so that I do not have to worry about him, then it marginalizes the gift and any success he has, I cannot lay claim to.
If we liberate a country for natural resources, then any good that comes from it, cannot be claimed in full, by our country or any of its citizens.
If we force people to buy health insurance, because the insurance companies demand 38 million new insureds, then any good that comes from it cannot be claimed by our politicians.
If we force people to wear seat belts, because the insurance companies want lower medical expenses, we cannot lay claim to any good that comes from the act.
If we make people citizens, but do so for votes, then it negates the act and the goodness that comes from it cannot be claimed by our politicians.
Nearly everything I do, is so I do not have to worry, but this truth will be the foundation upon which to build myself worth back to its original beauty.
The news machine spends billions and billions of dollars getting us to focus on the “what’s”, when all we should be focused on is the “why’s”.
“Why did I just do that?”
If we can start to see the truth behind all of our acts, we will begin to be able to see, accept and process why our politicians are doing what they are doing and the ramifications thereof and begin to chip away at lies.
If we cannot face it in ourselves we will never see it in others and if we cannot see it in others, we will never survive.
