I had a dream last light where I was wandering around, lost, but with the knowledge that it was my wedding day. I was carrying around this heavy blanket and finally I left it beside a trash receptacle.
I had gone for a ride, on the day of my wedding and I was miles away from where I was supposed to be, but with no way to get back, but walk. It was like I drove to where I was going, but had no ride back.
So I started walking, through unfamiliar territory, with people guiding me I did not know, to a place I was uncertain about wanting to be.
I made it back, but somehow naked and was looking for my vehicle. I passed a man and his child and they were speaking about finding a set of keys and I thought they had found my car and stolen my keys, but when I made him show the keys he found, they were not mine.
So I walked back the way they had come, through the snow and by a crowded establishment. I did not want to walk by naked, but it did not really seem like anyone cared, so I followed their path back through the snow and found a door.
I pushed open the door and found another door and pushed open that door to enter what appeared to be a room. I was expecting to see my car, but found people I was vaguely familiar with. They knew me, but I did not know them past the understanding that they were family.
I was late for my wedding, but the only one that seemed to know about being late, was me. As far as everyone in the room was concerned, the wedding was taking place in a few hours. My bride was there and was uneasy about things and walked off.
My father came in close to give me a hug, but I pulled away, not really being too comfortable with him. He asked where we were going on our honeymoon, but I had made no plans and really did not know I was to get married on this day. He asked if I was flying into this city or area and I did not know why I would not being flying straight through, but did not say anything.
I did not even have any reservations set up. Like a wedding was going to take place, but I was not aware of it.
I chased, my bride down and we spoke. I knew who she was and she knew me. She was upset and had thought that my father had been making all of the arraignments, including the honeymoon. She thought that all the plans were in place.
She was upset, that we had to pay for our wedding and honeymoon and worse than that, we did not know this, so did not make plans and we felt embarrassed and did not want to tell those people, that we had nowhere to go, after the wedding and no place to live.
I felt like a bum, like I had done something wrong.
It was like everyone was ready, but us!
