We have all seen the commercials about the kids on the bus witnessing bullying. It depicts a bully physically and verbally abusing a child, while the other children anxiously look on.
You can sense the group wants to speak up, but they are afraid.
The commercial does not actually teach the children how to stand up to a bully, it just points out the need for us, as parents, to teach our children how to defeat a bully, but how many of us have actually ever done that?
There is only one way to teach our children how to stand up to the bully’s of this world and that is to stand up to our bully’s.
The simplest definition of a bully, which, in my opinion, encompasses all of the known bullying realms is: someone or something which makes you look the other way while he, she or they, do what ever the heck they want to do.
The truth is; the first one to stand alone against a bully gets his or her teeth kicked in; if tw0 or three stand together they may still get beat up; if several stand up at the same time it may still be a perilous task.
The only way to negate a bully and to stop him, her or they, dead in their tracks is to stand together, all at the same time.
It is the only sure fire way to make a bully stand down.
Remember, the first one to stand up alone, gets their teeth kicked in.
Do not be the one which cannot stand up, because you will witness a beating and it will be your fault.
